Turned this jumper I got in a second-hand clothes shop last year into a cardigan ! It was my original project but it took me a year to get to do it …
It was really easy and it looks so much better now, I’ll be able to wear it a lot more :)
If anyone wants to know how I did, just ask ;)

RESTLESS by Gus Van Sant : inspiring ! !

restless

I’m really fond of Gus Van Sant’s movies and the topics he brings up and Restless makes no exception.

This movie is about Annabel Cotton, who has brain cancer. She will meet Enoch. She will die, she knows it and her attitude in front of this death sentence is amazing. She is incredibly brave and she tries to enjoy life. At one moment she talks about a bird who sings every morning because he is happy to bee alive another day. This behavior is a great life lesson and it shows how death is inevitable, how we must accept it to be able to embrace our lives and live to the fullest of our oppurtunities.

Mia Wasikowska is reaelly great for the part of Annabel because she naturally gives of a joyful vibe. Her smile really communicates her happiness, it’s as if her whole face lightened up. Yes, I’m quite fond of her :D

I sometimes like to listen to movies. I just close my eyes and try to imagine the characters and the scene. Well, this movie is an awesome one to listen to !

To sum up, it’s a very poetic yet truthful movie ! I highly recommand it !

See you ;)

To Rome with Love… : let me catch the plane back !

affiche

In this new movie, Woody Allen takes us in another big european city. After Barcelona (Vicky Cristina Barcelona) or Paris(Midnight in Paris), here we are in the romantic city of Rome.

Ok, sounds good but , kittens, let’s get one thing straight : not so great !

This comedy is rather disappointing. Everytime I see one of Allen’s movie I get paradoxical feelings : I’m both amused and annoyed.

So, we’re in Rome and here starts different stories. We expect them to be related somehow. Unfortunately no.

However, I admit some moments are fun but as we say “The shorter jokes are always the best ones”. Well here it feels as if there was four sketches relatively funny separatly. Moreover the absurd side is interesting but only to some extent.

Concerning the actors, I am no expert on acting but I would say they are not bad. Ellen Page is to die for as an enchantress, seductive as possible. I LOVE how she’s dressed in the movie and she’s just gorgeous ! It changes from the teen roles like in Juno or Bliss (I know she played in other movies but she usually plays te same type of girl). Nevertheless, I think pairing her with Jesse Eisenberg wasn’t such a good idea. Nice to see him after The Social Network, but he looks kind of nerdy next to her…

In a nutshell, the four stories separately are quite fun and entertaining but the whole movie isn’t that interesting.

You should still go see it and make your own opinion. But I don’t really recommand it…

Ciao ;)

Joana Vasconcelos : modern art in Versailles or how to awaken the old castle

VASCONCELOS
